Leadership Workshops — frequently asked questions

About the workshops

We accept between 6 and 30 participants per session. The half-day foundations format works best with 6 to 12 people because the exercises involve paired role-play and small-group debrief. The full-day intensive can handle up to 30 because we split into sub-groups for the afternoon coaching rounds. If your team is smaller than 6, we can place you in a mixed-company session where people from different organisations work together. That actually produces interesting cross-pollination of ideas, since participants bring problems from completely different industries.
Yes. We deliver workshops at client premises throughout England, Wales, and Scotland. Travel within 100 miles of our base in Welch-upon-Jones is included in the workshop price. Beyond 100 miles, we charge a flat £150 travel supplement to cover fuel, accommodation, and facilitator time. We bring our own materials: flip charts, printed exercise packs, sticky notes, and timer displays. You just need a room large enough for the group to move around in, ideally with movable chairs rather than fixed theatre seating.
Our four facilitators each have at least ten years of management experience in operational roles before they moved into training. One spent 14 years running logistics teams for an NHS trust. Another managed engineering squads at a mid-size software company in Bristol. A third led a chain of community education centres in south Wales. The fourth ran procurement for a construction firm. They all hold coaching qualifications from the Institute of Leadership and Management, and they each deliver between 40 and 60 workshop days per year.
If you cancel more than 14 days before the workshop date, you receive a full refund. Cancellations between 7 and 14 days out incur a 50% fee because we will have already prepared the tailored scenario scripts and reserved the facilitator. Cancellations fewer than 7 days before the date are non-refundable. We can reschedule to a new date at no extra cost if you give us at least 14 days' notice. If we need to cancel on our end, you get a full refund or an alternative date of your choice.
Absolutely. After you book, we schedule a 30-minute call with the team lead or HR contact to understand what your group needs most. If feedback is the main pain point, we weight the session towards giving and receiving difficult feedback. If cross-departmental friction is the issue, we build exercises around collaborative planning and shared accountability. The core structure of each format stays the same, but roughly 40% of the content is customised based on that discovery call.
Every participant receives a printed action-plan card on the day, listing three personal commitments they made during the session. Four weeks later, we email each participant a short self-assessment survey comparing their current confidence levels to their pre-workshop baseline. We compile the results into a summary report for the team lead. If you want ongoing coaching, we offer a bolt-on package of four monthly one-to-one calls with a facilitator at £95 per person per month.
For a full-day intensive, we start at 09:30 with a check-in exercise that gets people talking within the first five minutes. By 10:00 we move into the first scenario block, usually focused on delegation or prioritisation. There is a 20-minute break at 11:00. The late-morning block covers conflict resolution through paired role-plays. Lunch is 12:30 to 13:15. The afternoon begins with a strategic alignment exercise where sub-groups compete to solve a resource-allocation puzzle. From 14:30 we run open coaching rounds where each person brings a real problem from their job and the group helps them work through it. We wrap at 17:00 with action-plan writing and a brief closing reflection.
Yes. Registered charities and community interest companies receive a 15% discount on all workshop formats. We ask for proof of registration when you book. We also run two free mixed-company sessions each year, one in spring and one in autumn, open to charity workers. Places fill quickly, so sign up for our mailing list via the contact form to hear about them first.
Our remote series runs as four weekly 90-minute live video sessions. Each session includes breakout rooms, shared digital whiteboards, and homework tasks to apply between calls. We use Zoom or Microsoft Teams, whichever your organisation already has. Remote sessions work well for distributed teams, but we find the in-person formats produce stronger results for teams that are co-located, because the physical exercises and room dynamics are hard to replicate on screen. If you are unsure which format suits you, mention it in your enquiry and we will advise.
